Chen Hui delves into the inner and outer psyche of the modern chinese woman. She explores themes of sisterhood, loneliness, career and motherhood in her beautifully crafted pictures.

Her work is on a grand scale and uses a rich layering of colour to create moments of intensity and tranquility. The painting style has a generous flowing brush with a rich impasto.

Chen Hui majored in oil painting in Inner Mongolia Normal University. She furthered her studies at the Xian Fine Art Institution in Xiamen. She now teaches at the Xian Fine Art Institution and is a visiting lecturer in Shanghai Fine Art Institution.
