Yuan chi luan has a strong modern impressionist brush, tempered with the eye of an illustrator. Her still lifes are fresh and idiosyncratic. She loves how the inanimate can tell the story of our inner lives, combining a daringly large and generous brush with an ability to render the true sense of things. Her use of colour and light creates paintings with an uplifting quality.

She studied at Guangzhou School of Fine Art and shows in Guangzhou, Taiwan and Hong Kong. She recently won a Gold Medal at the Guangzhou art fair.
